Students graduating from the Eastern Mediterranean College Middle School received their diplomas on June 25, 2009 Thursday at the 13th Graduation Ceremony.

The ceremony took place at the Lala Mustafa Pasha Sports Complex at 8:00 p.m. where 80 students were awarded their diplomas.  Five students ranked first since they all scored the same average. Students who represented EMC very successfully in various competitions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and abroad received their awards as well.

As EMU President Prof.Dr.Ufuk Taneri was out of the country, she was represented by Vice Rector Assist. Prof. Dr. Bahire Ozad, Social and Cultural Activities Coordinator for the Rector’s Office Assist. Prof. Dr. Arif Akkeles and Assist. Prof. Dr. Yiltan Bitirim. The former president of the Board of Trustees Ms.Cimen Varer, Pre-University Educational Institutions Executive Board President Cemal Mert and EMC PTA Vice-President Hasel Tasel, School Teachers and Parents were at the ceremony. EMC Principal Sevinc Boztuna, in her opening speech mentioned the accomplishments of their students and added they felt very proud of the high success level of their students adding this year they experienced for the first time in the school’s history the honor of having five class valedictorians. EMC Principal Boztuna expressed her thanks to the parents for having raised their children in the best possible way and also for their contributions. School Principal also thanked EMU President Taneri, the President’s Office, and the President of the pre-University Educational Institutions Executive Board for their invaluable support to their School.
